Mod Name / Version: Private Moderation 2.0

Description: This allows you to put a user into "Private Moderation" where all their posts will require approval from an admin or mod. An alternative to banning...allowing their good posts to get through. Almost like a probation.

Working Under: UBB.Threads 6.5

Mod Status: Beta

Any pre-requisites: 6.5.1 (didn't test under 6.5 but this should work)

Author(s): JoshPet

Date: 03/02/05

Credits: pootlecat for Commissioning the update

Files Altered: addpost.php, /admin/showuser.php, /templates/default/admin/showuser.tmpl, /admin/changeuer.php, /languages/*****/admin/showuser.php

New Files: none

Database Altered: 1 new field (U_PrivateModeration) added to the w3t_Users table

Info/Instructions: his works very similar to the banning function in 6.5. Edit the user, and under the permissions tab, just below the "has access" (banned) checkbox, you'll see a private moderation checkbox. Check the box to place the user in private moderation.
Then you'll have to check the admin area main page (or the forum) for posts which require your approval, and approve the posts on a regular basis before they are visible to regular users.

Disclaimer: Please backup every file that you intend to modify.
If the modification modifies the database, it's a good idea to backup your database before doing so.

Note: If you modify your UBB.Threads code, you may be giving up your right for "official" support from Infopop. If you need official support, you'll need to restore unmodified files.
