This is a collection (1300+) of Avatars from my board. They are mostly 80X80 and all are S.F.W. (Suitable For Work) <br />Quite a few are gaming/fantasy related. All were found freely on the net. <br /> <br />Working Under: UBB.Threads 6.5 and any Forum that has avatars <br /> <br />Mod Status: Finished <br /> <br />Any pre-requisites:6.5 UBBThreads <br /> <br />Author(s):Images are from various Artists on the Web, Collected and hacked by ChAoS <br /> <br />Date: 11/21/04 <br /> <br />Credits: All of the various artists on the Web, My friend Kitty Alex for her help categorizing them. <br /> <br />Files Altered: avatars.php,editbasic.php <br /> <br />New Files: Lots of new Avatars <br /> <br />Database Altered: No <br /> <br />Info/Instructions:Alter the two files per the included text and then unzip this to where your Avatars are stored. In 6.5 it is the /threads directory/images/avatars/ folder <br /> <br />Enjoy! <br /> <br />Disclaimer: Please backup every file that you intend to modify. <br />If the modification modifies the database, it's a good idea to backup your database before doing so. <br /> <br />Note: If you modify your UBB.Threads code, you may be giving up your right for "official" support from Infopop.If you need official support, you'll need to restore unmodified files.

If anyone wishes to submit avatars to me feel free to do so and I will update the package. Please make sure they are no larger than 80X80. Either upload them in zip format or email them to me and I will add them in.

Hey Chaos,<br /><br />The way that the code allows for a certain amount of avatars per page is very useful. Could That same code be applied to the smiley mod so it only shows "x" number of smileys per page? Ive been tring to get it to do that since the mod came out. Its perfect for a board that has about 25 or so but when you have like 60+ it takes a while to load. Making the smileys show so many per page would be very useful.

I'm sure I'm doing someting wrong... but after folowing the steps here, upload the avataras to /images/avatars and changing the 2 files, I still not seing any avatar if I click on the optiono "Stock avatars" on "My Home".<br />It just opens a new windows, with nothing in there.<br />Any ideias?

Sorry I didn't post the version...<br />I'm using 6.5.<br />I saw the original avatars once, as soon as I finished with the upgrade from 6.3 to 6.5.<br />Then, before I open the forun to the public, I installed this mod, and then I cannot see any avater (nor from the mod neiter from original<br />What's happen is it opens a screen with absolut blank on it.<br /><br />If you check from "Control Panel" all avatars are there. You can manipulate those. But not from the user view.

Go to Control Panel/Profile settings and make sure that you have the box marked Allow Stock Avatars (and any others you desire) checked. If that is the case I would double check your editing of the two files. (You did back them up right <img src="http://www.ubbdev.com/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> )

How can I check the variable $config['path']?<br />it's on the 'avatar.php' file and I'm wondering if it could be wrong, this is why I cannot get the avatars?<br />This is the line:<br />$dir = opendir("{$config['path']}/images/avatars");<br /><br />How can I 'print' the $config['path'] just to see if it's right?<br />or where do I set it on UBB?

chaos,<br />I just put 2 new posts below this one, today, before I read your questions...<br />Re-stating:<br />Still not getting the results.<br />At certain point I tought was my firewall, so I desable it (norton) but still the same no images.<br />I re-created from the original again, (yes, I do have backups <img src="http://www.ubbdev.com/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.ubbdev.com/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> ), and still not showing up.<br />It only opens a small window (was 900x600, I changed to 500x400) on the foreground but nothing else.<br />You can see it if you try to register at:<br />http://imigrar.com/forum<br /><br />I'm running out of ideas here <img src="http://www.ubbdev.com/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /><br /><br />Thank you<br />EHM

Open your control panel and look for DB's Paths and URL's settings and you should see the Relative URL to Images Directory. This is your relative path an you should have an Avatars Folder inside that directory. Make sure you uploaded them inside the Avatars directory. Mine is UBBThreads/Images/Avatars/all go in here <br /> <br /> How did you upload the new files? Make sure your permissions are correctly set for the new images if you used FTP <br /> <br />You should not have to change anything (path related)in avatars.php all paths are set in the control panel <br /> <br />Since the modification were only minor the only updating I will probably do will be adding more Avatars images <img src="http://www.ubbdev.com/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I just did the upgrade to 6.5.1 b4<br />The stock program is working with all your avatars (of course that is a small screen with few avatars).<br />Tomorrow (is too late now), I will follow the steps to do your mod change on those 2 files and see if I catch what could be wrong here <img src="http://www.ubbdev.com/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /><br />THank you

Got this added to my 6.5.1 test board, seems to be working fine. Still uploading all the avatars, though . . . Over 1300 total when added to what I had before.
