I have wanted something like this for a very long time. With the amount of game mods that Half-Life has it will be nice to group them together now!

Can you add a "new post" indicator onto the ubbthreads page so people know when there are new posts in a subforum?

It would be possible, but you see the new posts tracking of the subforums in each parent forum anyway. The addition to the ubbthreads.php page would require a few more queries.

Which hacks are tested with this? Will IIP6.5 work?<br />I see on infopop.com that 6.5.1 is now in beta testing. I think I wait until this is released.

>Which hacks are tested with this?<br />I can not give you a definitive list, but it runs at www.shroomery.org/forums which is HEAVILY hacked.<br /><br />The modification itself is relatively "mild", it does not interefere much with anything really.<br /><br />>Will IIP6.5 work?<br />I see no reason why it should not work since IIP6.5 is just the front page, but I can not guarantee it.

[/]<br /><br /> On my forums we have quite a few diffent catagories and many forums within each one. We use the catagory view as the default view. when there is a new post in a subforum the catagoy light comes on, once you go into that catagory you have no idea which parent contains the subforum with the new post. Atm I am holding off of upgrading to 6.5 because of this same problem.(waiting for 6.5.1) I would really love it if you were able to add this feature in and have post tracking right through if possible.<br /><br />Chris

I have this installed at my site and it's invaluable! I don't feel so limited now because my main page isn't cluttered. This is a great mod and worth every penny, it's also very easy to use from an admin perspective. A new version for 6.44 supporing post tracking for the subforums in the parent forum has been relased to the member area.<br /><br />Post tracking for 6.5 will be ready in a few days.

A new version for 6.51 has been relased to the member area. It supports post tracking for the subforums in the parent forum and uses less queries than the previous version for 6.5.<br /><br />http://www.threadsaddons.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/Cat/6 <br /><br />(the version running at ThreadsAddons will be updated to the new version once Josh installs 6.51)

Has this been tested on 6.5.2?
