Well, it's actually a very simple thing to do, but it's the consequences I worry about...<br /><br />Here's what I would like to do, I would like to change the path/url to my forum from /ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php to /music-forums/ubbthreads.php in order to improve my google search results further AND make the URL more descriptive to the users.<br /><br />I have tested setting a 301 redirect on /ubbthreads, so all links should continue to work, but I'm worried that I will drop out of google, start over from scartch so to speak.<br /><br />Does anyone have any experience with this? Although there may be some lag time involved, probably against you because they don't seem to be spidering much new content lately. <br /> <br />So really, base your decision on whether you want to do this solely for the other reason you mentioned.
