hi there,
today we installed ubb.threads 6.5beta and it seems to run like a charme. so, i just have this one and simple question: should i start hacking and patching ubb.threads with a bunch of mods (smiley hacks, quick reply, no category view...) NOW with a clean ubb.threads (just 2 admins registered yet) and then doin' the import of 13.000 members and 1.200.000 single postings from my ubb.classics6.5 OR would you recommend importing first all data and then starting to modify ubb.threads?
so, i've been reading the manual concering the upgrade very carefully and concerning to the question above i also qould like to know if it does matter if i install some templates and forums for testing purposes only BEFORE the import and then asking our sysadmin to delete all forum&member-data for a clean import? might this work?
thanks for any hints and i'm happy to have very soon a FASTER bbs where i'm not forced to delete postings because ubb.classic is not able to handle such a big flatfiledatabase any more *G*

Wow. I like how that Image blends through the tables and into view. Man, that nice.

2drchaos, woooha - thank you so much..! it's pretty unique, my users LOVE it and i spent loads of time to convert that implementation of that background-image from ubb.classic 5 to ubb.classic 6 and now it seems that i do have to find some totally new ways using css to put an similar background-image to my brandnew ubb.threads6.5b4 :-/
i guess for ubb.threads i won't have to slice the picture again but it's quite wicked finding the corresponding .class within the .styles-feature for including just at that table a background-picture...

You shouldn't import into a hacked board. But you can run a second copy of UBB.threads and begin modifying it, then move over the modified files after the import is complete.
