I have been receiving a lot of private mail on my forum asking "How do I post"? Have others come across this problem? How did you resolve it?

If they can PM then surely they can post??? <br /> <br />I find either quoting from or pointing to the FAQ section usually works, and if they still can't suss it out after that then I tell them to power off the PC and go and do something else! <img src="http://www.ubbdev.com/forum/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> <br /> <br />Or, are you saying that they are getting 'post not sent from a valid host' message? If so then they need to add your site to their firewall.

only 20?

Some think that the send private IS the post button. Others send a PM requesting instructions on how to post and some send the same message to the support email address. Is anyone putting a message on the main index or the like?

20 years? not long! I started by writing a program in hexadecimal to analyze some physics data I had taken on a Bendix G-15 computer whose memory was a rotating magnetic drum, and I am not talking about a current hard drive! (Now I sometimes find that html seems like hexadecimal seemed then.)<br /><br />Then I remember when it was a great advance in the late 60's to use a PDP7 or 9 for data taking and analysis, partly because it was so cheap to double the memory: i.e., a 16 KB memory module only cost $5000! And you wouldn't believe the number of analytical options that would fit into 16 KB!<br /><br />Tony
