Following in the footsteps of our First Member Spotlight contest, and our sister site, UBBDev, we are proud to announce our Second myPaymentPal-ThreadsDev Member Spotlight Contest!

We are looking for UBB.Threads site owners who exemplify excellence in 5 categories:
- Design Integration
- Appropriate color scheme
- User Experience
- Appropriate use of modifications (originality scores big here)
- Overall excellence

This time, we have a twist.

Rather than the staff voting on the entries, we will use a poll so that the users here will vote on the best site. So all sites are eligible for entry, since it's a user judged contest.

The top 2 sites will get interviewed ( See Previous Winner Interviews) and the winning site will receive a license to myPaymentPal. myPaymentPal allows you to collect and automate subscription signups and paid access to forum features using PayPal.

The winner will also receive a "Spotlight Contest Winner" logo which may be displayed with pride on your site and your profile here.

So, if you feel your site has the perfect blend of modifications, appropriate color scheme, great integration with the rest of your site and just overall "rocks" , then please submit your site entry IN THIS THREAD today!

Entries will be accepted until Friday, January 9th at midnight Eastern Time. Then we will compile the list of entries into a poll which will be open for voting until January 16th.

Now for the fine print:
- Eligible entries must be a legal UBB.Threads license (this includes all versions). If you have a pirated board... don't bother entering.
- Forum must have been established for at least three months.
- Any warez, porno or warez/porn related sites, sites with links, banners, pop-ups to any warez or pornographic sites need not apply. We may exclue any other site that we deem to be inappropriate or contains inappropriate content, or content deemed to be inappropriate or illegal.
- Sites that illegally hide/remove/modify the Infopop copyright notice may not enter. (Let us know if you have legally removed this info under a wwwthreads license.)
- Sites with threads which contain excessive profanity or vulgar language or content will be disqualified

Entries can be disqualified for any other reason at the discression of the ThreadsDev staff with or without notice to the entrant.
We reserve the right to modify the rules of this contest at any time if needed, or if we just feel like yanking your chain.

Please only reply here to Enter Your site - Do not reply here with comments or conversation. Posts which are not related to contest entry will be removed. If you have questions, post them to the Announcement Thread. Thanks.

ALSO - If you need to login to take advantage of features, please provide a user login/passowrd for testing purposes.

Whilst I doubt I will win - the link(s) below will get picked up by spiders

My site is 'Non League UK' - we support non-league football (soccer) teams in the UK - this means any team that is below the Football League - usually these are part-time teams - but we go right down to grass-roots, and do not exclude any team however small.

Essentially it works on the basis that each club that would like a forum (they just ask for a free forum) is allocated a category - and a unique URL - e.g. http://forums.nonleague.com/hornchurch which they then include on their own website - anyone clicking on that link will get their clubs forum, a forum for the league that their team plays in and a few communal forums shared by everyone. We have a menu system so that users can navigate to other club forums etc. This means that small clubs have their own area, and are not swamped by the bigger clubs.

Depending upon their club, they get a different sidebar showing for each club or league (have completed 100+ so far out of over 1,000) this gives the extra navigation to results, league tables etc., and shows their club badge down the side. Users can select their club upon signup - and can change their club (and their navigation) via 'My Home'.

Whilst our main URL is http://www.nonleague.com - the site is split into different sections...

http://forums.nonleague.com
http://links.nonleague.com
http://games.nonleague.com
http://graffiti.nonleague.com
http://chat.nonleague.com
http://mailman.nonleague.com
http://photos.nonleague.com
(plus a few more in development)

To get the best from the site you really need to be logged in (as that is when the club based navigation kicks in) So I have created a test account

username: threadsdev
password: password

URL: http://www.nonleague.com

Thanks for looking

forums.howwhatwhy.com

Mostly technical modifications:

- Migrated UBB.Threads from MySQL to PostgreSQL.

- Improved performance significantly (we currently have 230,000 posts).

- Automatically generated "hot topics" based on activity in threads.

- "Dynamic view" in addition to flat and threaded.

- Added AIM and Yahoo messenger online status, plus clicking the online status icon opens an IM window (if the IM is installed, of course...).

- Quite a lot of minor stuff, e.g. mods can see IP used to send PMs, mods/admins have a "ban" button on the "who's online" screen, users can have all replies to their posts emailed to them, allow users to edit their own titles, UBB.Codes for underline, superscript and subscript, quoting doesn't "nest" quotes from previous message, and many more.
