Help,

I can use phpmyadmin to download a backup of my mysql database to a local file. However, I can't upload it in phpmyadmin to restore the backup because it times out. I get the mysql error: "MySQL said: MySQL server has gone away"

I've done a few searches on this, and it appears the solution is to modify the php.ini file. However, I'm on a shared server and I cannot change it.

Is there an alternate way to restore the database from my backup.sql file? like uploading it via ftp and running some kind of script from php in the browser? Unfortunately I have no shell access.
