Hi, Just discovered a problem - I have not done any coding for a few weeks, so this seems to have sprung out of nowhere A user can create polls fine - but as soon as anyone votes they get the message.. ' Forum not found. Please use your back button to return to the previous page. ' I created a test vote under my login - and had the same result - voting is set to everyone - but a change to registered users only has no effect. The URL bar is showing... http://www.nonleague.net/forums/sho...aint&option=3&Submit=Submit+voteI don't think the spaces are an issue, as I get the same thing with my username of admin I am running 6.02. If anyone has any thoughts, I would be gratefull. Ian

I've seen the same problem on another site... what modifications do you have installed? quick reply? last reply by? auto quote?
maybe we can narrow down the culprit...

Yes In otherwords all three - the strange thing is that I have not added anything new for a few weeks - and it has been working since then. Mind you my quick reply mod has always been broken. I never have been able to fix that - not sure if these issues are related. I guess a new clean install is called for - problem is - it is a big step for me at the moment - and one I am trying to avoid Ian

I'll look over the polls from the thread and see what may be missing. I'm sure it's a form issue.

add 'autoquote' here and see if it still works... I believe it's either that or the quick reply doing it in

Easier said than done... lol I have never installed them so it may take me a bit. If I don't get to it tonight I'll work on it tomorrow. Will do one at a time and see what breaks or perhaps while doing it I'll see what the problem is straight off.

I believe it's the quick reply mod as it's the only one that's dealing with the form information for posting a reply. Not sure what though as I have not looked at the code, yet.

Would you guys test this out for me: Here is a poll. I voted.... but got an error and mis-direct with the "return to forum" link. It's got to be the Quick Reply.... That's the BEST mod....but it causes the most trouble.

Looks like it recorded my vote though..... but still only one vote so it didn't accept your anon vote (even though I allowed anon voting).

This is off topic... but posted elsewhere here... but I experienced the "page 13" problem that I experienced the other day at threadsdev. Where i was viewing posts on page 13.... yet page 13 didn't appear until there were 3 posts on that page. I have to try to duplicate this bug on a clean copy... but maybe threads is supersticous. LOL

I replaced my dopoll.php file with a virgin copy...although to my knowledge...nothing I've done modified this. I no longer got an error.... Anyone else care to try here please.

I seem to have broken something else. That forum (keyword josh) is open to all..... read and write all groups.... Yet when I posted the link to my users... it didn't work for them either. Hmmmm...... Works for me regardless if I am logged in or out, on mac or pc. The good news is that it took my vote without error. Back to the drawing board.

That's weird how some people can use that URL and other's can't. Can anyone jump directly into the forum? http://www.measurection.com/forums/postlist.php?Board=joshIf so... the poll is on top.

We don't have Quick Reply Here! We have this same problem on this board here. This is the error when you vote: Warning: Variable passed to each() is not an array or object in /home/measurection/htdocs/forums/viewpoll.php on line 71 This is the offtending code in viewpoll.php: code: // Loop through the results to figure out the percentages while(list($key,$value) = each($options)) { $division = $totalvotes * 1000; $thisone = $options[$key]['1'] * 1000; if ($division) { $per = ($thisone/$division); } list($crap,$percent) = split("\.",$per); if ($percent < 10) { $percent .= "0"; } $percent = substr($percent,0,2); if ($per == 1) { $percent = "100"; } $options[$key]['3'] = $percent; } $dbh -> finish_sth($sth);
Why doesn't it seem to like $options? Sometimes it works....sometimes it doesn't. I don't see a conflicting $options being used with the anchors away or quick reply mod.... Must be something else.

I should add that the votes get counted.... it's having trouble displaying the poll in view poll..... and the "Return to Forum" link is broken when you get the error. <SHRUG>

It worked for me.. lol
the error is saying that $options isn't an array and can't be used with the "list" statement.
I guess perhaps there should be a check to see if it's an array before doing the "while" statement would be a good idea.

This seems to be totally random. As I thought I fixed it once. <SHRUG>
I've tried to duplicate on a clean install.... maybe it's a bug, but can't.
I can't see what mod would have it not see $options as an array. None of our mods do anything with viewpoll or dopoll, right?

After fooling with this all evening...and trying so many different things..... I have finally realzied that I'm not crazy! I can't figure out exactly when it happens... it will work for some users and not work for others.... but I can duplicate this on a clean 6.1.1 board..... which means --> BUG! Have reported at InfoPop Community Forum. If anyone has any more info on this bug... please add it to this bug report. Thanks everyone for trying to test.

meant to mention this josh, but those error messages we were pasting in earlier were the messages we rec'd after trying to vote in the thread, not an error message we rec'd when trying to access the links you were posting to the poll

Thanks... first I thought people were unable to view those forums.... but then I figured it out. It still bugs me that I can't seem to isolate why some people can vote in the poll without trouble and some can't. The results get tallied either way.... but it happens in a clean install.... so that's a project for Rick to figure out.

My two cents---and I'd like my change please... Allen's my guru on this stuff but "quick reply" seems to be the one hack that will CONSISTENLY cause the error, even though a few others may too. Also, as others have mentioned, my polling works just fine from IIP. [:"red"] AthenaLink's Talkback Forums[/]

Just want to point out that the polling from IIP is self contained. It doesn't use any .threads scripts for recording the vote.

if you get the error the work arround I have found to work consistently is for the user to use show threaed when the error is in show flat. I have not been able to duplicate this in show threaded. is anyone else still having this error? as far as I can tell it first appeared in 6.1.1 I also have the Quick reply mod as well as the calendar 3.1 hack.

I believe it's the quick reply mod that gets in the way with the poll voting. I could be wrong though. As far as I know there hasn't been any complaints of the polls not working here since that mod was not reinstalled after this last update.
