What's the best column type to use for a column which represents a boolean value (0 or 1)?<br /><br />My guess is CHAR(1) NOT NULL.<br /><br />I noticed that there's also a CHAR(0) NOT NULL, but its only permissible values are NULL and ''(empty string), which I think would be confusing.
