When you don't purge old PMs, and you have a lot of them, the PM listing page takes wayyy too long to load. This should be broken down to 20 or 25 per page.

Yes, that would be nice. <br />This, added to a suggestion I´ve seen elsewhere, that PMs act as threads and not independent posts would be nice as well.<br /><br />It would also be nice if the Admin could set the MAX amount of PMs (or bytes) for the personal pmboxes. PMs dont add value to the community as a whole, and they take system resources. Limiting them would be nice.

Yes... limited characters per message, and total messages would work... but then again there is always the pruning based on age. My thing is I want to keep them all as an admin, but I have hundreds of them, and it makes loading that page a real pain.<br /><br />Maybe an option to prune PM's by group would work ...<br /><br />I personally don't see the need for a threaded PM format... PMs are essentially e-mails, and the previous message being there to see when replying is enough, IMO. All threaded would do is enable people to see all of the messages. I've never had that need.

I wouldn't mind having the message I'm replying to added to the bottom of my reply so as the message progresses one can view the direction it came from. <img src="/forum/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />
