I'm trying to learn stylesheets.<br /><br />There are a few things in the default ones that I don't understand.<br /><br />I'll use infopop.css (6.0 br5) as an example.<br /><br />1) Does this serve any purpose, since there's nothing between the braces {} ?<br /><pre><font class="small">code:</font><hr>A:link, A:visited, A:active, A:hover { <br />}</pre><hr><br /><br />2) Some of the tags (may not be the right term) are missing values. Is that an error?<br /><pre><font class="small">code:</font><hr>A:HOVER { <br /> color: ; <br /> background-color: ;<br />}</pre><hr><br /><br />3) Is case significant? For example, in #2, does it matter whether it's "HOVER" or "hover"?

1) Serves no purpose, except as a blank template, in case you ever wanted to change these values. Without any assigned values, the A tags will remain as per the browser default (unless changed within the HTML).<br /><br />2) Not assigning a value to these means that again, nothing will change... it's as if "color:" wasn't even there, unless it is assigned a value. <br /><br />3) Case does not matter.

The base ones do need some help <img src="/forum/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" /> There are some duplicate entries and values.<br /><br />Those posted in here by me are css2 valid.
