I use the "alt" property on regular html-embedded images to help explain what a button does.

How do I fix it so that alt never goes away if the button is never moved off the image? Some of my descrips are long and I don't want the alt message to go away before the user has a chance to read all of it.

Shorten your 'tip' instead. If they can't read it all before it goes away, then it's too long.

Well that's definitely an option. I could've sworn I'd seen places that used the "alt" option to explain in more detail buttons and whatnot. Maybe I'm thinking of something else...
