Thanks to the magic of United Devices' Multiple Member Comparison here is a comparison of the top 3 Team UBBDev Members based on Results.

Those being AA, XPerT and Japes.

Of note, look at the Average CPU time per result. AA has been cranking out work units in 5 hours and 45 minutes. XPerT on the other hand is averaging just over 41 minutes per work unit and Japes apparently spends just under 3 minutes per work unit.

Since their Average Points per hour is relatively close, they are likely running similar powered machines...so it is unlikely that either XPerT or Japes is running UD on some super-computer; and more likely that they are returning incomplete or corrupted work units. In either case, they are amassing a large number or returns, but not so many points...look at the average points per result/day.

If either of you can confirm whether or not you are having problems with incomplete or corrupted results, we can try to help you out.

I've never seen that page before, thanks tacks smile

Not sure about XPert, since he has been signed up a while, but I think maybe Japes has been running this a while and only recently joined a team >> transferred results.... the number of results were crazy the first day and a half, but have been more "reasonable" since then. It's quite possible that UD doesn't transfer anything but results when joining a team after a long while and thus gives skewed results... maybe. wink

I am running on low-medium powered pc's with a couple of faster ones throwed in. XPert has quite a few high-powered servers he could be using... eek

Either way, thanks for everyone's contributions, we are way ahead of where we thought we would be at this point and that's only due to the whole team producing smile

Allen:

If the results being returned are corrupt or incomplete then they are of little use for the project. Fortunately there is duplicity in that the same work unit is processed by multiple participants to ensure accuracy.

In addition, a person who "transfers" to a new team does not bring their points with them. They remain with the team for the duration of the time spent on the team.

At the bottom of the comparison page, you can see the Member Since date. This is for the entire UD project, not just with a team. Japes signed up for UD on 10/4. If the trend is more normal now it maybe because he/she is completing work units and earning points. I haven't seen any posts from this person, but I image XPerT can give us some insight. In addition, Japes only lists 1 device install (granted it could be a proxy server, or he /she could be using only one computer to communicate with UD and multiple non-connected computers to do the processing, but that isn't indicative of the points level).

There are lots of neat ways to track statistics at the UD website .

of course.. I could be wrong wink

I do know the records kept by the UD are less than 100% accurate, reading their message board will show us that. I believe Japes is part of Wando's site, Wando added ~8 people in and around that day.. XPert would be our best guess as to why this is happening....

I might try an experiment and see how they do handle people running UD for a while then signing up for a team.

May be a good idea for some of Wando's members to visit here for some newbie-hand-holding.

I'd hate to see someone think they are crunching a bunch of wu's and not getting credit for them if they are incomplete. That sort of thing usually results in disappointment and disinterest...we want to keep 'em going.

Besides, we compete with other teams on several levels...members, results, points.

Jape577818 does 1 result about every 15-20 minutes from each device, but doesn't seem to have returned a result for over 70 hours now. That is a set of very quick computers, but I hope he wasn't using computers without permission.

Still 48%, maybe it's because of the recent upgrading? confused

LK, is the work unit one that you downloaded after the upgrade? If so, then it might be a problem with the new version of the agent.

If not, you might just be stuck with an ugly molecule. How many conformers on the current molecule?

It was more than 100,000 conformers and 60 hits, and I already started a new one (but didn't finish the other one). I think it was a problem since I had more than 100,000 conformers/60 hits before in the same percentage.

Currently 2% after 2mins laugh

Due to server downtime at UD, I don't know what the numbers were daily, I post a result mark here and begin again tomorrow:

Tonight (10-13-2001):

12,359 (# 399)

(still moving up in rank laugh )
