yes, it's a long time ago i was posting my last support-things in the German Support Forum, due the fact that my board was growing a bit 'too' fast so i had to cancel my support for the german webmasters - i'm really sorry bout that. But now i urgently need YOUR help and your comments/feedback.

Right now i'm thinking about doing an update because i'm still using ubb6.1 and we do have some problems with not 100%ly working or missing features. So, first question: should i wait for UBb6.4 and will be the 6.3-Hacks compatible to 6.4 OR are there just minor changes in 6.4 so you would recommend me to upgrade to 6.3(.1.1) ?

Second question: i've done a few hacks and i'm afraid of crashing the whole board in case i'll do an update. Maybe YOU experienced troubles with one of these hacks while upgrading?

so, maybe you've got time to have q quick look at my board and maybe you're able to give me a useful hint concerning the upgrade? i really would love to modify the board using 6.3 or (soon 6.4?) with the 1:1-look-a-like to the 6.1-version im using right now. most of the hacks mentioned aboved seem to exist for 6.3 but due the fact that the multihack-program doesn't work on my pc i have to code/modify any hack manually and that's a pretty nice work in case after i hacked all files the 6.4 will be released and i have to do all the stuff again *G*

6.4 will break compatability with the 6.1-6.3 hacks. You'll probably want to upgrade now with 6.3.1.1.

thanks... so, are there any "mighty" new features coming up with 6.4 so i should still keep on waiting..? what's your personal opinion? maybe you like to have a quick look @ my board just to have a short look the way i modified it and what's maybe the best thing i could do in future *g* - best regards from 'oktoberfest'-munich,

You're not using 6.1, you're using 6.01...

How the hell has it NOT blown itself to pieces?

Most of the hacks you've installed are default in 6.4... you might want to wait, but with all the problems with 6.01, you might NOT want to wait...

charles, ops, you're absolutely right - but, well, maybe my server as well as my ubb knows that i spent in the earlier times a lot of time developping own hacks and modifications, so my board seems to love me and my users, but - are there really so many known bugs/problems with the 6.01 ? in installed it on the fly, even transferred it with about 600.000 single messages to another server and except of some minor bugs the board worked 100%ly with the first punch ... so, maybe i really should wait for the 6.4 (any ideas when it's gonna be final?) because all hacks mentioned aboved are on my "to do list" for 6.3 and i hate doing include 25.000 single lines of code again and again
but.. so, looks like that you're talking bout a wonder that my board with the 6.01 is still working? ops... :-/

6.01 is MUCH slower than 6.3, and it's very easy to "hack" (= crack, not ubb hacking ) it (even I can ). Also, 6.3 has many cool new hacks.

2lk, *oooops* - kay, i will talk to the sysadmin VERY soon to start an update to 6.3 - thanks for sharing your thoughts and comments, i hope no one will abuse this thread *g*

Just the last and one important question: do you think it may cause some troubles when upgrading to 6.3 from 6.01 with the above mentioned and installed hacks..?
