I always have liked this hack, and I went back to James's instructions for 6.2+ (or less) and tried to see if I could figure out how to get it to work with 6.3

The zip file contains text instructions (I did a Multihack, too, but it's too hard for me to describe how I applied it! ) and a small graphic for the page top.

The text instructions are for the public_topic_page.pl in the Templates and JCTemplates directories.

The ONLY changes from James's original work was finding the code to be replaced. I did not do anything to the code that James created.

I guess that 'HOME' key or 'ICON' in the browser is just too far to click eh? =)

For example, if you are on page 10 in a thread and you click on the icon for the Page Top, it will take you to the first post on the first page in the thread.

Let's say you're reading through one of these threads on the hacks to see if you want to install it. You get to the end and you want an "easy" way to get back to the first post in the thread. This makes it easy.

# alone should not take you to the top of the page. Any browser that does this is displaying a bug.

To get to the top of the page in a cross-browser manner, you have to use a little Javascript:

javascript:scrollTo(0,0);

or <a name="top"> at the top and #top

I just tweaked the code so that the bottom rule and graphic is properly aligned with the top rule. I also added the "#top" fix described above.
