To be considered "finished" it must be written so that it:

• has all publically viewable text as wordlets
• will still run with mod_perl
• to be continued

This is so modifications written for v6 do not break the best reasons to upgrade to v6 in the first place. Unless otherwise noted, modifications will be considered public domain.

PS, Allen, take a look at the "Who's Online?" On the main page. Is it OK there? Only you, me an Deb can see it at present.

I updated the text so at least those who speak english can read it... my typers weren't working on that first draft.

I like the who's online ell, there is one blank spot in the users where it's like this:
username, username, , username, etc...

oops, and getting cgi errors in the iframe below this now... nothing has changed here except the who's online

Iframe was a momentary pause with uploading a file.

Yeah, that users' annoying me... whoever they are, they have a valid cookie (supposedly) but seem to have manually edited out the username.. click the "Online Users:" link to see the page (which is still missing the times + the ability to see a members' profile).

I like the way it's improving Ell, I hope you plan to change the numbers to actual threads and forum titles...
BTW did you "auto-install" this?

Could another requirement of posting a hack be a PREVIEW of the hack? I just want to see the hack in action before I go ahead and download something.

That is a good idea, only it would cut out the ones who deal with control panel stuff...

I will be making a template to post finished mods in here with, and one of the fields will be a "demo" field.

will there be a section in the data base that is like the v5 mods?

If there's a cpanel picture, why not make a "picture" field .. that way people can get a grasp of what the Control Panel options are!

Ye Jedi.. waiting on my to stop and do it, right now I am getting my thoughts together on the template.

qasic, good idea.. a screenshot if a link is not available would work.

I would also like to see a requirement of a demo link posted also so that we can see what the hack looks like before installing it.

Also it should be the author's responsibility to maintain the link to the actual hack. So many times I've gone to download a hack only to get a not found error. If the link is not working after a week I say the hack gets removed..

We'll be maintaining alternate means of getting the files that make it to finished status should the author's link go away.

Thanks, Allen. You have no idea how much this will benefit many users. There are times when I want to ask my users if they want this hack included and what not, but without a demo, they can't see it.

And the screen shot for a CP hack is a good idea as well.
