Any way this flag can be placed at the bottom of the post (where the Posts, Location, Registration Date and IP Logged entries are)? With the small size of the flag icon, I think this will be very possible. It's less clutter on boards who already have avatars, stars and ratings in place...

Anyways,

cp_manage_flag.pl.

Change the info line to:

&HeaderRow(qq(This section renames/deletes your flags! You may only rename only one file at a time but you may delete multiple files (press CTRL while selecting the files you want to delete). To rename a file, select the file from the last, enter in the new name (without the path) and then press the Rename/Delete button. To delete file(s), select the file(s) from the list and press the Rename/Delete button. <font color="red">Be careful. Once flags are deleted, there will be no way to recover the avatar. </font> ), "2", "#FFFFFF", "#000000", "left", "1");

because 1) script does confirm whether you want to delete that selection or not and 2) this fixes the extra line space between the last lines in the info section.

The new Wales flag that you posted a couple of threads up is not included in the release that I just downloaded. That should be added.
Also, is there a way to make the U.S. and Canada appear at the top of my drop down list since most people will be choosing one of those 2 countries anyways?

Well, usually when I fill out a form on a website that has a country field; they always place the most commonly selected fields together at the top for convenience. This was just a thought.

Excellent hack! Question though, is it possible to make a State/Province option also or would this be too much? It might be nice also that when you move your mouse over the flag, it comes up with the country's name. Just a thought anyway .

I've already added state flags on my site--I haven't found a good site with free gifs of Canadian provinces yet but will keep looking.

It's pretty easy to add your own state gifs--either through the cp panel or just by uploading your new gifs yourself.

Thanks for this hack. Also thanks for the Welsh flag. Someone already mentioned a Dutch flag. Now we have the Welsh i suppose someone is going to ask where is the English, Scotish etc.

BUGFIX: Flag Hack

Problem: Upon returning to profile, the Flag Icon defaults to "None" if the field used in the UBB for flag hack was not profile number 17.

Fix:

In flags_list.pl

FIND:

ADD BELOW:

Cool man.. You ansered a question I had concerning the Moods Mod as well I think. The moods mod does the same thing (goes back to none upon re-entering profile)..

Would the code be similar? I don't know too much about this, but it just seems like it is checking which profile 'slot' of sorts the flag info is kept when opening the flag_lists.pl file.

Can you figure out why my forums show the location on rollover as well or is this normal?

I've never used the MM's Mood hack or the iMood hack so I wouldn't know. Sorry.

Ok I am having a problem in my control panel where the Manage Flags is. See when I want to upload flags it trys to upload them to d:/ubb/ubb/flags (Flag Directory) and I have them upload to /web/ubb/flags for my server. /web/ubb/ is my noncgi dir so i figured /flags would eb the place to put them but yet they dont show up.... Does anyone know how I can fix this? My UBB URL is www.animeinstinct.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi

Those who requested state flags, I now have them uploaded (same size as the countries).

This set includes Washington D.C., as well as Puerto Rico for a total of 52.

Be aware that flags, especially STATE flags suffer alot of detail loss when using at 21x14 pixels. You've been warned!

hey just wanted to let you know that you accidently added Puerto Rico in with the State Flags... Puerto Rico is a country, just letting ya know and to take it out...

If you read his post that's above yours, it wasn't an accident.

Puerto Rico is not a country. It is a commonwealth of the United States, and has been since 1952. They have even voted on becoming a State in '98, but narrowly lost with 53% of the population voting against statehood.


But anyway, coOL hack! I'm gonna look at installing it now using the State flags.

Not a bug, but something that would be handy and make the hack more complete.

When you go into CP, and into edit your members' profiles, flag choice doesn't show up in there.

For some reason, i followed all the directions correctlly. editied like it should be done, but for some odd reason, i get no errors at all, but nothing shows up in the CP and when I goto edit my profile, there is no flag option. I'm using V6.01.. any ideas on whats wrong?

Nope Just found this hack, and installed it.

Same problem. You can go in, and select a flag in your profile, but it is not visable when you post in the forum.

This seems like a great hack and everything went as it should of done during the installation.

But if i goto the my profile page in v6.4 it brings up 2 script errors, (with browser debugging enabled).

Sorted it, It was caused by my header having a form in it so the forms[0] had to be forms[1]. You may wanna reference them by name

does anyone else get a problem that whenever you modify your profile you have to choose your flag every time? can it be done so it is like the avatar hack, where unless you change it, it stays where it was?

I had that problem too. But the flag was showing. I added the Code Buttons hack right after that and now I show a broken flag everytime.

Thank you! It worked for me. And I had move the flag after "From:" at below. It look more better. Just check the $Author_extra at the ubb_lib_posting.cgi (I forgot the name) and of course, remove both
at the flag cgi file.

I try to install my first hack, the flags of Jigga-Master version 0.9b
but in setting flags show me that I don't have permision for to go inside.
Are there a posible problem with the license, I paid the individual for one year $125.oo
I have ubb version 6.04b

Another point in the instructions one file have the name cp_manage_flags.pl but, the file have this name cp_manage_flag.pl thera are one s in that.

i put in all the possible paths i can think of but when i go to flags setup, no flags are shown why??

flags setup? Not sure what that is. If you have everything right and no flags are showing, then try...


In the "registration settings" in cp.

1) Go to Primary Settings -> Flag Settings.

Look at the custom field and note the number.

2) Go to Primary Settings -> Registration Settings.

Under "Custom Registration Fields" make sure you have the custom field number turned on for the number you noted in #1.

Everyone who was having the problem with the Flags Manager.. Here is instructions!

1. Get Flags Hack installed.
2. Go to Control Panel
3. Go to Primary Settings >> Flag Settings
4. Enter the path to your flag directory(if you do not know it contact your ISP or give me ftp access so I can find out).
5. You can not use your Flag Manager.


I hope to work on this hack some and get it ready for the finished forum.

*Have to re-select flag in profile.*
