well not exactly, just moving it to where most people can't see it.
cause at a lot of forums i visit they hate it, and think it should only be seen by admins.

and i know about the search by member number thing, i'm working on doing something with that.

- find -

- find and remove -
$member_number

and your done, it does'nt quite get rid of member # entirely, just merely in posts, i will work on getting rid of it entirely in future beta's.

Member numbers are important in ubb. If someone changed their publicly displayed name, how would you know it is them? Their member number of course. Also, if you remove it them how will you mod people? By their member number... it wasn't put there for no reason.

I know but a lot of people at the boards i visit don't like it, and feel only admins and mods should be able to view it. so i made this hack for them and anyone else that wanted it.you can still mod people, just go to show ip and it'll show thier member number.

If you disable member number on a board, I'd STRONGLY reccomend disabling posters' ability to switch displayed name... it's all too easy to pretend to be someone else...
