When can you get this? Right now I'm trying to get it to not look like **** in Netscape. When I get it to look like something decent I'll release it, if anyone else wants it out there. The image above was taken in IE 5.5.
Finally after a couple of hours of kicking, screaming, and political obscenities directed at Netscapes rendering engine I got this:
That was taken in Mozilla 0.8 or Netscape 6.1. I prefer Mozilla because it doesn't have Netscape branding everywhere. I should have this released by tomorrow.
Here it is, all nice and tidy. Works in both IE and NS. Works wonderfully in NS6 too. Solves that problem. I plan on updating this to add some stuff that might be useful. Whenever I have time. This beta is relatively stable and there should be no problems. I tested it quite a few times today. Always remember to backup files before installing any hack. Ok, I'm done chattering, here you go:
I personally like my menu better, I have nothing against infopop, its just that their dhtml menu loads slower, isn't compatible with most browsers, and I dunno, looks a bit funny to me. Download my design mod if you want. Maybe we can convince infopop to use this.
Alright DPK - I hope you don't mind, but I wanted to tell everyone here at UBB DEV how good you are...everybody already does trust you, but I just wanted to make it more public you are well trusted at NFSCheats and a true mastermind of the CGI scripts.
DPK-- Nice work! I like this better than the current DHTML as well. If you give permission to use it, I will add it to the standard UBB6 code (pending QC checks, of course).
(someone in our support forums pointed me your way)
One small thing, not to be greedy or so forth, by maybe just a small hidden comment in the cgi that says something like:
# CP Menu by DPK - dpk@nfscheats.com
You don't have to though. Legal stuff bothers me, so if you want, just take it. Just knowing that some of my code is in there makes me feel happy enough.
Version 0.3 released. Bug fixes and rewrite. (It took me 3 days to figure out how to get NS4 to look ok. CSS + NS4 = Bad Mojo). This is what I have so far. I'll probably work on this menu a bit more if I find anything while scanning dev sites to improve it (part of my daily routine). Maybe, maybe not. I think its the best it will be for now.
