Can someone tell me why this crashes IE browsers and not NS browsers?
Code:
code:

It goes in the headerinsert box of a forum I am working on for a dhtml navigation menu. (it's the hierachy 4 menu from dhtmllabs.com).

Works fine in the threads and in files like active.cgi, team.cgi, private messages, and who's online, but crashes in Ultimate.cgi forumdisplay, and postings.

Any enlightenment greatly appreciated...

Awright...so it doesn't work in IE, but only with a few files. Thats really weird.

Anyway, I really don't know what I can tell you...I don't know whats wrong.

You could try enabling script debugging in IE, that will tell you the line and character number, as well as the type of the problem. It might help.

I did, but it wouldn't get that far... just enough to begin loading the navigation, then an error message would pop up saying that IE can't load the page, then flip to an error page when I clicked on "ok"... really odd... the crazy thing was it worked in new and old versions of NS... they must just have a problem with the IE portion of their browser sniffer, or there's some javascript in those pages mentioned above that kills the nav.

I am going with a routine navigation until dhtmllab.com gets the bugs worked out of the script... it is very handy tho... you update one file and the navigation for every page on the site is adjusted....

Thanks for looking at it.

I've used two dhtml menus on my former site (antipopculture.org). I never had problems with either of them, except that the second one I used didnt work with Netscape 6 (which was probably their problem).

The first one I used had 2 levels and was taken from jagis.com (hey, I didn't see any copyright statements in the code) and the second from bratta.com and has 3 levels. I still have them both, if you want.
