I write little code mods like this all the time, but never really have time to document them. I basically take an existing hack and make it much easier to impliment. I'm not even using this hack yet, but I'm documenting this since a couple people said they were having problems with spawn's custom forum hack. All of that coding in cpanel3.cgi isn't that necessary. Watch how simple this is...

Step 1: Find the images you want to use for each forum (I recommend is 32 x 32 pixel size, but it all depends on your board). If you have 5 forums, for example, you should find 5 images with the same extension.* I'm documenting this assuming you're using .gif files. If not, switch to .jpeg or whatever. If you have a board on your forum you don't want to have a custom image for, just download a regular transparent space .gif and use that.

Step 2: Rename each image to match the forum name you want it to correspond to. For example, if you have a race car image for a board called "Racing," see which board number it is and rename racecar.gif to #.gif. # would be whichever board Racing is.

Step 3: Upload all of these images to your nonCGI directory. They should all be numbers followed by .gif, nothing more.

Step 4: Open Ultimate.cgi and find:

Code
code:

UBB isn't letting me print & nbsp; without the space, so just fill that blank so that it's one word. Add an extra column under that by pasting this:
Code
code:

Now find:

Code
code:

and under it, add this:
Code
code:

Step 5: This part's tricky so be careful. Upload Ultimate.cgi to your cgi directory and go to your forum intro page. That's it

*The only problem with this hack is, you must use the same file format for all pictures, since the file extension is hardcoded. This isn't that big a deal though, since jpgs can easily be renamed to gif, and vise versa.

I haven't seen a fresh copy of Ultimate.cgi in months. I'm remodeling my intro page again (y'all can peep my forum homepage to see how I've already switched everything around there). So if there are any problems with the html, it's due to that. I'm sure someone can come along and fix any minor html bugs, but it should work.

Enjoy
